A lot of drug violence occurs (or seems to occur) over "turf" because drug dealing is such a profitable business. If you regulate it, you cut down on the amount of dirty drugs (drugs with 'substitute' chemicals that make them much more lethal), you add to 'peaceful' competition, and that will drive the prices down. Additionally, you could still tax the drugs to provide for additional revenues, some of which would cover drug problems, and keep a lot for drug education. Whether or not cocaine is legal, I won't use it (although that can't be said for everyone).

Of course, then we'd have people sueing companies because they are to stupid to realize the obvious and not capable of taking responsibility for themselves...

Damn lawyers...
