i think snakes can only be eaten when there's nothing else...thus the fact that some lost Egyptian soldiers in the desert would usually ate snakes...but so is the case in everything...if there's nothing in sight other than a bottle of wine..and you're dying out of thirst..you can drink the wine (not sure it would help though)..
