Umm...no. That something ludicrous like $300 million was the cost for the [i]whole[/i] picture. It was budgeted for considerably less than that. Cameron went way over budget on the picture, making it the most expensive movie ever up to that point (and may still hold the record). Titanic broke the previous record held by Terminator 2 ($200 million) which is another Cameron flick.
