The government should go hard on people with a licence and really decide who needs a gun and who dosen't.

I think there should be a minimum sentence of at least 10-15 years for anyone found to be in possession of an illegal firearm. Lets face it, most murders/violent crimes are commited by people holding a firearm that was purchased illegally and not in a store.

It would make alot of criminals think twice before walking down the street with a gun, but then again i dont see this happening as the average murderer gets a sentence of 10 years in the states so 10 years for being in possession of an illegal weapon is highly unlikely but i imagine it would be effective in reducing gun related crimes.
