Subject: Chris Matthews at MSNBC shows his ass...

You guys have got to check into this!

I was watching Hardball at 6:36 cst and Mathews has a War correspondent in the field at the Saddam Airport live on the videophone.

Chris Matthews: So tell us what it's like out there, is the fighting pretty tough?

correspondent: No Chris, we've only met light resistence and there are no casualties.

Chris Matthews: But we've heard the order for the citizens to get their guns and take their airport back! Have you seen any civilians fighting with the troops? I mean, what are they doing?

correspondent: They're cheering us.

Chris Matthews: What? You gotta being kidding me? That can't be right, can it? I must have misheard that?

*Chris Matthews ends transmission from Baghdad*

Chris Matthews: I'm sorry folks, we had a communication error.

Chris Matthews: Now let's go to our military advisor - Just how tough is this fight going to be, how many casualties can we expect?

-----------------

That's not verbatim, but you need to see the transcript anyway.
