By whom? The HK G3 .308 is one hell of a battle rifle.

With a heavy barrel, a set trigger, and a little tuning it becomes an awesome semi- to full auto sniper weapon platform.

It's well built, tough, and accurate. Some guys in my field prefer a bolt action for accuracy, but I like a platform with select fire options.

I also have a HK VP70Z in 9mm. It is a pistol that holds 21 rounds and it has never misfired or jammed once in over ten years of regular use.

What do you think is better?

In my 'arsenal of freedom' I also have a Ruger mini-14 in .223 and a Garand M1A1 in .308, but I wouldn't call either one a battle rifle. The Garand is just too damn heavy and the Ruger is too small.

I own several Rugers as I believe they make some of the best weapons in the U.S. -

Glock is what I call overrated.
