Subject: Re: As long as the government has an effective monopoly on firearms, the threat of oppression is real...

Heck man the threat of oppression exists as long as one guy is bigger than another. I'm oppressed by a world full of pussy and I can't have any of it. I'm oppressed by one of my son's classmate's parents. They are so damn rich they spent more on their kitchen than most people make in a year. Oppression is a fact of life. Looking to a tool to solve the threat of oppression for you is like asking for a government hand out. Ultimately the freedom from oppression resides with the individual.

I think given the situation today firearms still have value for us as individuals, but I really don't see much of a future in this line of reasoning. That's what I'm questioning. Just like a baby eventually you have to be weaned from the teat. At some point in our social development we'll have to lay down our arms. That was the ultimate message of Jesus, and for the life of me I can't see where he was wrong?
