Subject: Bad news for Onalaska

Turns out, word has it (when seeing people at the start of La Crosse's Oktoberfest today--the festival continues until Sunday) that the Miss Onalaska pageant set for October 16 has been canceled due to lack of contestants.

They only had three prospective entrants (two others planned later dropped out). However, there will still be the Miss Onalaska's Outstanding Teen pageant show (same time, same place) with seven entrants, all new gals but one returning from 2018).

Oh no. I was worried this would happen. Its quite hard to bring back local pageants and had hoped -- Brenda and staff could pull it off. I hope this is not true., 15:44:28 10/01/21 Fri
