Subject: Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2022


Congratulations to Cassidy Sairs and the five other participants in the 2022 Miss Wisconsin Rapids pageant show held last Saturday, November 6th at the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.

The six entrants were: Lexi Heinen (contemporary dance), Amelia Gibbons (singing), Madelaine Freeberg (pom routine dance), Taylor Swanson (cello solo), Cassidy Sairs (lyrical dance), and Angelina Grant (vocal).

Winning the title was Cassidy Orion Sairs, 21, of Port Edwards, a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point who performed a lyrical dance to “Incomplete” by James Bay for talent. She was crowned by Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2020, Ariel Amanda Zdun, who completed the term of now former Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2020, Tabitha Lynn Hoyt who resigned exactly one year since she won the title in October 2019.

Named as first runner-up last Saturday was Angelina Grant, who would have become the second black woman to win the Miss Wisconsin Rapids title in program history. The first was Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2012, Michelle Victoria Neumann. Taylor Swanson was chosen second runner-up, while Lexi Heinen earned the Non-Finalist Interview and also the Non-Finalist Talent scholarship honors for her contemporary dance to "Imagine" by Boyce Avenue. Lexi also won the $350.00 Visit Wisconsin Rapids Essay award.

Sairs will now advance to the 2022 Miss Wisconsin pageant on June 18, 2022 in Oshkosh where she will attempt to become first Miss Wisconsin Rapids to win the state crown since Dixie Ann Sarchet of Stevens Point was named Miss Wisconsin in 1954.

Congratulations to all and also to second-time local pageant directors, sisters Morgan Ann Vanderhei (Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2014) and Tianna Marie Vanderhei (six-time state entrant and Miss Wisconsin 2018).
