Miss America has a lot of issues, but that's because they've deviated so far from the format that worked for so many years in choosing Miss America. Fortunately, our state program hasn't. And while they have to abide by the scoring categories and percentages that Miss America implements for all state programs, we still choose a top 10, have them compete in all areas of competition, choose a top 5, and then announce the runners-up and winner from there. This is the format that Miss America never should have messed with. In a few weeks Miss Wisconsin would have been held. I personally will miss the opportunity to once again attend the event in Oshkosh.
