Subject: Jumping from One Pageant to Another

It amazes me how some of these women jump from one pageant to another without skipping a beat. Kylie Thompson gives up her Southern Lakes title on January 12th and then the next week she's competing for Miss Green Bay Area. It appears that she really has no competition in that pageant, so I think it's safe to assume she'll receive her 3rd title. Not that I'm opposed to these gals trying again, but one would truly think they'd like to take a break in doing so. It makes it appear that they can't function without a crown on their head. I guess one should applaud their tenacity and ambition, but if it were me, I would certainly want to take a break and work on what I needed to do to improve. A good example of this is Kate Gorman who went to state in 2008 and didn't compete again until 2011, won the La Crosse/Oktoberfest title, and became Miss Wisconsin the following year. You may recall that the moderator of this board was obsessed with the notion that Ms. Thompson was the favorite to win Miss Wisconsin last year because her submitted photo was larger than anyone else's. She didn't even come close. Will be interesting to see what she brings to the table when she returns to Oshkosh again next June.
