Condolences to the family of LaDonna Lydia Drigert who was later known as LaDonna Ruth Drigert Schonert of Racine, who was Miss Goodwill of 1954.

LaDonna died exactly a month ago today, Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in Racine at age 83. Her funeral was coincidentally held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, the same day as the 2019 Miss Racine pageant.

LaDonna was 18 years old and a polio survivor when she was named Miss Goodwill at the competition on June 25, 1954 which selected the queen for the upcoming 1954 Fourth of July festival in Racine.

The Miss Goodwill competition was held each summer from 1949 to 1961 in Racine. However a Miss Racine contest was not always held during those years to select a winner to advance to the Miss Wisconsin pageant. Starting in 1961, with Julie Carol Hannaford, only one woman was a title-winner (chosen as Miss Racine), and later competed for Miss Wisconsin.

LaDonna married Lee Eugene Schonert in Racine on May 25, 1956, and they later had three children, as told in her Racine Journal-Times obituary:
