“Naturally the common people don’t want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.” Hermann Goering. Hitler’s Reich-Marshall at the Nuremberg Trials after WWII.

Now i rare would say this, but that is the most ignorant, un patriotic comment i have ever seen. I seriously considered deleting it, but i want everyone to see just how unwanted you are in this country. Comparing this great Nation to communism, dictatorships, HILTER?! Now it is my recollection that tells me 74% of people wanted to go to war. We WERE being attacked, people died. I dont know if you dont care, think its funny, or whatever, but anyone who thinks this should be kicked out of the country. The very power behind this country is the fact that the people DO have a voice. We could of elected al gore and we would be being attacked every week like israel. but we got a guy who stands up for freedom and liberty. if theres something wrogn with that, id like to know. before i go i'd like to remind you of who won that war...

uhmm.. the first message sucked... the one by tyler was good... only ty... you replied 2 months after the kid posted that... I dont think it got the same effect... honestly... I think tys right... and Im glad we have a leader who is effective and takes it personal when something happens to the nation... and the comparison to hitler is alittle out of context... if your talking about war stratagies hitler was a great man... if your talking about a country getting behind a man with morals and values... hitler sucked royaly... but our pre-esident is in charge... and he IS doing what he feels is right... which is more that what I can say for most of the fashious dictators that you compared him to.

These comments remind me of a show that used to be on MSNBC, called Savage Nation. Before Mr. Savage was fired, I remember him making a comment in which he claimed that the Alamo was a great victory for Texans. These comments about Hitler are just as ridiculous. Anyone who would attempt to falsify history is an ememy to the Republic.

This person is a clear example of someone being "dragged along" and being "brought to the bidding of the leaders."

Actually, the original post is very on point. It is not a comparison of Bush to Nazis (however there WAS a substantial connection between the Bush family and the 3rd reich...I swear to God. I dare you to look it up before dismissing it outright).

What it states is the technique that always works to get the populace to support your actions. Anti-war individuals were accused of being anti-american, we are given blanket "color alerts" that tell us nothing more than to be scared, and the like.

Open your eyes. There is nothing wrong with questioning the actions of the government when you feel you are being decieved or that our soldiers are being sent to die for no good reason.

We had a point in going to Afghanistan. We had no cause to go to Iraq.
