Subject: Spelling of Family name.

I see that through military and other records that from David 1812 Ohio to son Joshua 1840 Ohio to son Edward 1875 PA. to son Fredrick PA. and to his son Larry N.J. and their families spelled their name Severs. How did the original German name translated into English become Seevers? Does anyone know of other Severs in this Family line? My mother was a Severs. thank you Jim Severs DiVietro
