Subject: Mary Seevers' Maiden Name ??

I have a question. Does anybody have any idea of why it is thought that Abraham Seevers (born about 1748) had a wife named Mary Morrison? It is clear that his wife's name was Mary, but where does the last name of Morrison come from?

I have often wondered if somewhere along the line the elder Abraham Seevers' wife became confused with his grandson Abraham Seevers' wife Polly Morrison. Mary and Polly are names that are sometimes interchangeable.

I can verify through marriage records, land records, and etc. the Seevers wives names. But, I have yet to see anything that would support the name of Morrison as being the wife of our ancestor.

If anyone has documented proof of her maiden name, please email me at: mikehall714@aol.com
