I went to the US (Tenn @ Chattanooga) and studied business. I did my undergrad in Accounting and my MBA in finance and came home and didnt have a problem finding a job. I got my first contract position about a week after I graduated, and when that was up I searched for about a month (both turning down jobs and being turned down) until I got hired by a big bank here in Toronto. I came home each summer and worked in Offices and in my second last semester did an internship at a brokerage firm and so these things helped when I was job hunting. I think being an athlete helps differentaite you from the crowd, showing not only competitiveness but also multi-tasking an organizational skills and the ability to adapt and work under pressure. I played up the US bit as much as I could during the interviews and answered all sort of ridiculous questions about how far I ran, why I wasn't in the Olympics and how fast my marathon was, all with a smile. It seemed to pay off. As long as your school is accredited in the subjects you are studying and you get your degree in something useful then you will be fine.
