I'd say this is a good example of where the plan for the task cannot be compromised for the short term. Also you can't exactly taper two weeks in a row. It would be nice to be able to take two weeks down in order to have back to back good fresh runs but that would break a training program designed for a faster future result.

I believe pistol can handle the 10k fine as long as the guys are working together to run sub 29 and not busting each others balls. The studs in the big east 10 this year could just start running 69-70s til the 25th lap and just kick to see who places where and all be assured spots at NCs in a few weeks.
