Hello Paul, The only written account of Airborne cadence that I know of is in Curahee by Donald Burgett. He lists lyrics to a song that they sang while double timing at parachute jump school in 1943. The NCO leading the unit would chant "What did the little dog say when he scratched his ass on a barbed wire fence?" and the group would reply "RUFF! RUFF! RUFF!". I do not know the tune. Col Murphy may be reachable on your question. Another source is William Tucker of 2/505. If either of these guys are still alive they might know. Bill Tucker wrote a auto biographical account. One interesting bit of trivia is when he is on KP at Fort Benning in 1942 and another paratrooper is singing the song "Brazil" while dancing with a broom. The Movie "Battle ground" has led to common beliefs that the Jody Cadence was extant back in WWII but there is no evidence. I hope you can solve this mystery. Tom Jones
