Evidentltly, from what he says in the above article, he has just undergone Surgery for cancer. I hope everything went well.

A NATICK press release on the dedication of a room to the WWII PAratrooper: http://www.natick.army.mil/about/pao/2002/02-60.htm . Interesting that Avadanian is identified as a WWII vet with no real elaboration on his carreer as a Paratrooper with the 505th.
