I love the title men will always rember the unbreakable bonds of friendship that war brings. You're with each other every day every man in the platoon knows everything about one another. They know specialist Matthews girl ran of with Jody, they were there when he got the letter. But they also know when to give him hell about it. Or when to set and talk with him brother to brother and tell him chin up were on our way to France women outnumber men 5 to 1. All of these men are proud but at the same time a feeling of shame or remorse. They think maybe if I would'nt have been on guard duty that night when those damn crouts made there push cowboy would still be here. They all share this hell as well! Websters dictionary should have a word for friends like these, problem is no one word could ever explain it. So we say Friends, Brothers In Arms etc..."Farewell to Friends" you say some were told farewell to early others by the hand of God or some other miracle got to say a propper farewell. High School friends friends from the block in time old age may erase these friends. But the crys, screams, explosions, gunfire bursts the fear the adrenaline all work together to sear the names of those dead and living in a sacred spot that only a combat vet knows. It lies somewhere between the soldiers brain and heart he will never forget. God bless these men from the beaches of Normandy to sicily, the Hurtgen forest. May you all find peace when remembering your farewell to Friends.
