Subject: Linwood D. Walker C co. 505th PIR

I am trying to find more information on my uncle Linwood D. Walker who served with the 505th during WWII. His service number was 34114200 and some records indicate he served with C co. He enlisted on 6/13/41 and was an early graduate from airborne school. Just prior to his death he stated that he had never made a combat jump during WWII. Is this possible? I know he served with the 505th in Africa and throughout the war. He also said he served with H and HQ companies.
He said he was with the mortars and at one point Sgt Steele (St. Mere Eglise fame) was his Sergeant. i had shown him a postcard of Sgt Steele on the church steeple and knew him by name before even reading the back of the card. Any Information would be greatly appreciated. Chris
