The reson I asked you what the source was, is because it is often the case that typed or written numbers do not completely "form" and can often be mistaken for another digit---3s can become 8s---6s can become 5s---1s can be 7s etc.....I think this is the case in your twenty year search.
Given the name White, Richard F and asn 36558107 consider this:

White, Richard F 36558107
White, Richard A 33668107

ARMY SERIAL NUMBER 33668107
NAME  WHITE RICHARD A
RESIDENCE: STATE unspecified
RESIDENCE: COUNTY unspecified
PLACE OF ENLISTMENT PITTSBURGH PENNSYLVANIA
DATE OF ENLISTMENT DAY  16
DATE OF ENLISTMENT MONTH 03
DATE OF ENLISTMENT YEAR 43
YoB: 1924

Whether this person was part of a holding unit, part of F/505, or in the 82nd at all is a subject for a different search. However you should appreciate that the odds of two people with the same first and last name having the exact same last 4 digits in their asn is roughly 15,000 to 1.

Were I to make an educated guess I would say that the person you are looking for is Richard A White who hailed from Corps Area 3 which includes Pennsylvania. Where he is now, or what his circumstances may be is anyone's guess.
