Subject: search for pvt Mart Smith, 82nd ABN, 505PIR, F company

Dear Reader,

I'm Luc Amkreutz and for 10 years now I've adopted the grave of private Mart Smith on the Margraten cemetery in the Netherlands. For a long time I've been trying to obtain more information on Mart Smith and/or contact with relatives. I've written a.o.to the 82nd ABn div. ass. and to mr. S. Wurz who has written a book on the 505th. But until now I haven't received real information about pvt. Smith.
I hope that via this website people can help me a bit further or have ideas concerning how to proceed. The information I currently have on Mart Smith is:

Pvt. Mart Smith
Entered service from: Virginia
no. 33655865
82nd ABN Division, 505th prcht. inf. Regt. F company
DOW ,Died of wounds, in actions related to approach of the Waalbridge in Nijmegen on the 19th of September 1944.
He was awarded the purple heart posthumously.

I sincerely hope there's somebody out there who can help me along.
