I am researching a 3Bd 505thPIR vet to try to restore his uniform. I own his Ike jacket and Overcoat. Ike has all cloth insignia,T/4, 82nd SSI 5 o/seas 1 3yr service stripe but no awards (CIB,Wings, Collar Brass Ribbons). Of interest is the fact that the 82nd patch had been x-stitched to the right shoulder and moved to the left and machine sewn in place. The chevronas are x-stitched also.

I know that he was a member of Co.G 505PIR during WWII.

Any additional information, did he earn a CIB, receive any wounds, etc.) is greatly appreciated.

I hope to also find where he lived so I could possibly pull his 214 from the courthouse. Unless he is from Cook County Illinois, then I will have no chance at all of obtaining this. Anyone from around chicago knows what I'm talking about!
