Subject: Is there still an active 505 th Panthers

Need you help please.

I am a retired AF Vet who has been helping a "Iraq War" vet and now his service is coming in to question. He said that he was in the 82nd ABN, 5th Ranger Btn and 505th Panthers. All that I can find on the 5th Ranger Btn is a video game and some historic stuff. And it looks like the 505th panthers is a very proud WWII unit and is no longer active----Am I correct on any of this??? As a twenty year vet, I will be very unhappy if this guy is a fake trying to get in to the VA when real Iraq Vets, who really, need the help can't get the needed and well deserved help from the VA. Need your help as quick as possible please.
