Hi,

My great uncle, Alfred J. Van Holsbeck Jr. has his name on a memorial in Fresville, France placed there by William H. Tucker for those who died by machine gun fire on the 8th.

I'm a bit confused about this as he did not die there on June 8th but he died two days earlier, on the 6th, in Sainte-Mère-Église.

Can anyone explain to me why he is on the memorial plaque in Fresville?

Thank you in advance for your help!
Brenda
