 She dissected the herd with adroit, oversized eyes and promulgated a caustic cry.

Now the achromatic filly assumed the cool silence of a premature iconoclast; she had yet to gain her metaphorical sealegs. Her measuring gaze was intensely corrosive as she studied the bleak domain.

In her mind, it seemed only a matter of time before these lands belonged to her.

Naturally, when his daughter left the gathering of her family; his eyes followed her closely even as his body did not. He could hardly let her get herself into trouble at this point of her life - she had lots of time to do that later when she reached the 'teenage' stage of her life.

She ambles behind her sister, really not paying attention to where she was walking. Her head was up, looking around at the wide world around her, beneath the darkened sky. Seeing she had strayed a little too far from her sister's path, she jogs to her side. Wow! She thinks to herself, It's really big here! She looked at her sister to see her reactions.

"Big. Wide," she observed solemnly. Her first words where spoken unpretentiously, despite the meticulous articulation she employed.

She felt eyes on her back and beamed at their owner -- Malussinn.

Excitement surged as he heard Psyche's words... her FIRST words. "Cirrus, Cirrus." Quietly, though insistantly, he nudged her closest limb in order to rouse her. "Psyche said her first words." Having never experienced such a thing with his first children, he was as amazed and overjoyed as if he were indeed a father for the first time.

She giggled at her father, who seemed giddy at Psyche's simple words. He's so silly, she thinks to herself, nipping Psyche's shoulder playfully.

Dad. The word coursed through him like a ton of electric bolts and a sack of weasles. "CIRRUS! She said DAD!" Restraining the urge to prance giddily, he shot over to Psyche and nuzzled her. "C'mon, darling, say it again..."

She giggles, wriggling her lip at her father's silly exuberance at her sister's words. "Silly dad!" She squeals, pawing a miniscule hoof on the ground to emphasize this point.

Turning sharply, he regarded Maleah for one amazed moment... "CIRRUS!" What was that unicorn doing? Their children were SPEAKING. He was so excited he hardly noticed the adjective - or did he? "Cirrus, Maleah said 'silly'. She said an adjective! Say it again, darling, say 'silly dad'."

Proudly, Cirrus disengaged her long legs from her unpleasantly damp rest site and hurried towards her clustered family with an excited smile. "Ooh, good girls!" She praised with unnaturally bright eyes, "Can you say it again so Mommy can hear?"

Psyche, being the precocious youngster she was, stared at the rangy unicorn curiously. "Mom?" She wondered with a dubious stare, "Why's Dad actin' all ha-happily?"

She appears quite proud of herself, and repeats her words. "Dad silly! Dad talk loud and silly!" She squeaks, and trots over to her mom, peering up at her. "Mom?"
