Subject: I stole this from GHH (General Hospital Happenings)>>>>
In reply to: Madeline 's message, "Has the show seemed a bit choppy to anyone else? Like there were scenes edited or maybe cut altogether? I may be imagining things or just not paying enough attention. I was flipping around every time Gia/Stavros was on because that just creeps me out. I must admit that TB did a great Carly today. I hated her all over again--good job new girl!!" on 19:04:51 09/20/01 Thu

Daytime's New Direction

They are designed to help viewers escape and to entertain, but even daytime drama could not ignore what took place on Sept. 11. Like many primetime entertainment outlets, several daytime programs are reevaluating current storylines and removing content that could be deemed inappropriate with the nation's most recent events.

Since returning to the airwaves, General Hospital has posted a disclaimer before its broadcasts stating that upcoming segments were shot before the 11th and may contain some sensitive subject material. "Things that were innocuous before, people are sensitive to now," says Sallie Schoneboom, vice president of ABC daytime media and talent relations, over the decision to add the label. "We wanted to err on the side of being cautious." Schoneboom confirms that certain scenes are "being rewritten, reedited and reshot" in light of recent situations. While she declined to specify which scenes are being revamped, it is most likely that GH will modify its bio-toxin storyline in which the Cassadines attempt to take over the world with a deadly virus. Port Charles is also undergoing changes as the show reshoots 100 scenes to cut a side story involving terrorism. "We removed that element from the stories altogether," Jon Lindstrom (Kevin) revealed in an ABC news special. "Even the mention of the word [is] gone." Schoneboom reassures viewers that the shows' air schedule will not be interrupted by PC and GH's rapid overhaul. (From TVGuide)

[> [> Thank you! I am not losing it they actually have edited it differently. 100 scenes for PC? It must have been a whopping storyline. Appreciate the info B! -- Madeline, 12:26:36 09/22/01 Sat (NoHost/209.251.27.197)
