New Delhi, Sept. 23 (ANI) Indonesian-Malaysian consumer products joint venture CNI plans to invest 10 million RM (Ringgit Malaysia) in India, making it the gateway for its markets in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
CNI has invested more than RM 4 million in setting up its direct selling network, training infrastructure and manufacturing operations in India since the beginning of this year, CNI Group Chief Executive Officer Yanki Regan was quoted as saying in Kuala Lumpur.
CNI would invest an additional RM 10 million to improve and increase its contribution to its business partners in India, he said.
The group has expanded its presence in India after getting approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board of India last year.
It opened its sixth international office in Bangalore on Sunday.
The group also has offices and distributors in Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei.
CNI has around 1,000 entrepreneurs in Bangalore and other parts of India engaged in direct selling of ginseng coffee, toothpaste, ginseng soaps, royal jelly Vitamin C, mentholated pain balms, cleansers and moisturisers.
The CNI Group was started in Indonesia in October 1986. Three years later, it expanded its operations to Malaysia.
CNI is already a household name in Indonesia with more than a million distributors and has about 300,000 distributors in Malaysia. (ANI)
