Subject: Heh, tho we may disagree n a great many things, we do often think alike...

I too was thinking at the end of the race "Get that horse some water, goddamnit! He needs medical attention!" instead of just riding him into the ocean. But I *did* read someone's comments saying how you can't just stop a horse all of a sudden after it running full-out like Hidalgo did at the end. And it doesn't help to give 'em water straight away either (I know, this doesn't make much sense but as usual I can't remember the explanation for these facts and I do believe they are indeed *fact* 'cause the person who mentioned them knew horses really well...or something). So it probably *was* better to let Hidalgo kewl off in the ocean first, only...it was pretty shallow where he was in the cean, not really enough to kewl him off methinks (unless he drinks through his hooves).

Moving on, I too read about Viggo buying the horse which played Hidalgo. And really, I can't blame him. I mean, after the movie ended *I* wanted a horse, damnit! I wanted *that* horse even moreso (and I wasn't the one who worked along side it on a movie). Tho I made it known in my first post that I didn't find the movie to be great, I went to read comments on IMDB for the movie and for some strange reason, it irked me when I read other ppl complaining about it/saying it sucked. Strange, I get defensive of a mvie I didn't even like so much. Still, like you mentioned, what made the movie enjoyable for *me* was the bond between the man and the horse. It was nice to see a movie where a person cared so much for an animal, even going so far as to requst someone don't insult his horse then punching said insulter (I'd do the same), as opposed to the real world where animals are treated like crap all the time, killed, tortured etc for no reason at all. In this respect, the movie was a great escape. I rather spend a couple of hours seeing a movie where events might not be totally real but a man treats his horse like an equal, then spend another couple of hous in boring old reality where cruelty to animals runs rampant.

Two things I forgot to mention in my last post are: Tho I've mentioned how I was so glad to see Viggo's character caring about his horse so much, it's the little details I really appreciated. Like when there was the CGI plague? He was laying down on the sand not only covering *his* head but also protecting Hidalgo. I had to admire that. And *you* I'm sure would have appreciated that he actually *cried* when he was about to put Hidalgo down. I mean, I'd be doing the same if I was in his situation and it wasn't all-out balling but I knw how you hate ppl who don't cry in situations you think they should be crying;)

Last but not least, something totally OT: will you be on AIM this weekend?
