Subject: To answer your question 'The Longest Night Vol. 1' is the title for this whole short-story anthology...
In reply to: silver 's message, "as promised, here is "The Longest Night", volume 2. Or....is it still volume 1, just chapter 2? Meh..." on 07:12:55 12/06/03 Sat

First off, bravo for keeping to the deadline you set yourself for writing this story by;)

This flowed well with what had come before it. The little bits of continuity between my story and yours were a nice (and welcome) touch. While pretty much the whole thing was a lot more amusing than mine, I got some pretty loud laughs out of a couple of parts in particular (tho at the same time I was reading, dad had on his 'top ten hits from the 70s' cd and the song that happened to be playing was this Wuthering Heights song and, well...it also may have played a part in my uncontrolled laughter. But mostly, it was these parts of your story, sil;):

"What a stupid, random place for a hole," silver complained.

and

"You can't pigeon-hole me, you understand? I won't be crammed into your hour like spackle. Because then where would I be? I'd be left at 9 o'clock staring off in some damn department store in a mall, with no idea how I got there or where to go after that, and it would be all your fault, and I won't have it, damn you!"

'Twas all very good. Now the question becomes, who wants to do 9 P.M.?
