Subject: UCSB earns it's #1 seed

Round 1 (the top seeds hold serve)
Cal Poly over Idaho
UCSB over Pacific
Irvine over CSUN
Utah St. over Fullerton

Round 2
UCSB over Cal Poly (tough game, early lead changes, Schilling's hot but Gauchos too much to handle down the stretch)
Utah St. over Irvine (Nelson's too strong and Mark Madsen-like for Manute Parada to handle, but a classic Big West matchup)

Championship
UCSB over Utah St. (settles it best of 3, no there won't be a best of 5 or game of horse Aggies, SB repeats and charges to the dance to represent the Big West again, Gauchos depth just too much for the Aggies to contain, freshmans Brown and Davis give everyone a taste of our future dominance of the Big West)

Score: UCSB 68 Utah St. 62

Bonus: Big West gets slight diss with a 14-seed again (selection committee remembers SB's cinderella scare against Arizona last year and "rewards" us by not giving us a 15- or death-knell 16-seed), and 'pits' us against former SB asst coach Ben Howland's Pittsburgh team. Pitt shows us what it means to have a top-5 defense in the country and make life miserable for the Gauchos but the Gauchos keep it close before dropping by 5. Pitt makes it to the Regional Final.
