Episode Nine: Nature Calls
"She's in the lots of heart attack flavoured food stage of recovery"
says Dawn to Xander as the two of them carry large brown backs up the drive way to the student housing.
"The two of you getting any closer to the trust thing yet?"
"We're at the grunting stage..." Dawn starts pulling out her keys
"I think the trusting thing...if it ever comes, will be a while"
Walking through the door, Dawn drops her bags and her jaw
"Andrew, why is there half a dozen fat children running around the community room, in matching clothes?"
"You need to help me!!" he says begging as he falls to his knees pulling on both thier trouser legs.
"Help you with what?" Xander asks kicking him off
"Well, I couldn't decide a final subject to study in college and so I done child care....and now I've got to take the gummie bears camping...in the woods...this weekend"
Dawn and Xander look at eachother in bemusement
"I can't..." starts Dawn
"I've already bullied Garrison into helping me with my Drama and I need to do it this weekend"
"Nah uh, he's coming with me!" Andrew whines
"I don't think so!" Dawn tuts firmly holding her hands on her hips
(O.S) "Actually, he's helping me this weekend" Thalia calls
"Where's that Ice Cream?" she finishes.

"Knock, Knock" Dawn says popping her head through Thalias door.
"Hey" Thalia speaks quietly.
Dawn walks over and sits herself on the chair by her bed "You okay?"
"Don't do that...Don't be nice to me, I nearly had you all killed...again"
"Hey, who doesn't? The important thing is you didn't and you came through..." Dawn smiles "Rather stupidly and severely broken, but through none the less"
Thalia forces a smile, holding her sides at the same time as Garrison walks through the door with Ryan.
"Hey, How you feelin'?" Ryan asks Thalia "You look different?!"
"She does, doesn't she, not like herself" Garrison follows.
"Hi, Ryan!" Dawn pipes up, sliding down in her chair after realising what a geek she sounded.
"Hey Dawn" he says, catching onto this he leans over her shoulder and kisses her as Garrison looks on warily.
Ryan catches his look and moves onto awkwardly to a new topic of movement
"Where is everyone?" he says uncomfortably
"I Can't believe you've talked me into this"
Faith says stepping out of the van with floods of children rushing around her "Why?"
"Because trees are big and scarey and so are you..." Andrew says awkwardly as he unpacks the tents
Faith gives him a rather pissed look then looks at Xander and laughs
"You guys have to share a tent, the college doesn't know you so you're not aloud to sleep with the kids"
Both pass concerned glances to him.
"Sleep, like on the floor...in the same tents" he finishes walking off into the woods.
Faith holds the tent, both she and Xander look at the floor, shifting awkwardly.
"We should..." Faith waves her arm in the direction of Andrew screaming at the kids
"Yeah" Xander says quietly before the two stand on the spot looking around nervously, clearly the casualness of the other night was alot less casual then they realised.
the two slowly walk off into the woods as a red car pulls up at the roadside
"That's right, into the woods you go...deep into the darkness"
Ethan grins as he places his binoculars down and drives off down the sandy tracks.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

"That's gross"
one of the children calls as Faith hurls a tent peg through three close fish in the river, before rolling her trousers and walking into it.
"Yeah well, Andrew didn't tell us we'd be nowhere near a burger king"
"It's camping Faith!" Andrew bites
"Down boy!" Faith laughs as he walks off in a strop
"What's his deal?" Xander asks walking over to Faith
She looks on as Andrew works into the words further, Faith then briefly looks upto Xander
"Must be something in the water" she says coldly walking off
Xander follows Faith into the tent angrily grabbing her by the arm
"Stop doing that Faith! If it means so little to you then why is it effecting you so damn much?"
Faith looks down at Xander holding her arm and she spins to hit him down, but it has little reaction.
Where he shoul've fallen to the floor, he simply has a small red mark.
"See, you can't even bring yourself to hit me!" Xander says, not even in physical pain
"I can't"
"Right, so it's good that you admit it, that's a step closer"
"No I want to..."
"I want you to Faith"
Faith stops and looks at Xander confused "...to...I want TO..."
"What with the kids around?"
"Hit you! I wanted to hit you but I can't...I physically can't"
Xander looks at Faith like she just flew over the cuckoos nest
"You're the slayer, of course you can"
"Were you completely born yesterday?" Faith says bluntly
"I don't want to do this...it's not right" Andrew protests as Ethan demands he kill one of the children and lead the evidence to Faith
"...and also, she's not totally stupid"
"She was stupid enough to come here!" Ethan laughs
"everyone knows the only power any human can use here is the power of the mind" Anna smiles devilishly from behind Ethan.
"Now..." she says handing a knife, reminiscent of the one the Mayor gave Faith "All you have to do is plant this in Faiths tent...we'll sort out the killing"
as she says this, Melissa pulls out three of the children, bound and gagged as Andrew looks on in fear.
Garrison and Ryan are sat at either side of Thalia's bed as Dawn and Thalia slag men down to the ground, the two of them are constantly staring at eachother.
"What's going on with you two?" asks Thalia catching that something isn't right there.
"Nothing, it's all good" Garrison replies snapping out of it.
"I'm gonna go to the store, you want something?" he asks changing the subject.
"I'm cool" Thalia smiles as Dawn shakes her head
"I'm gonna go with him" Ryan says following him out of the door.
The two girls watch on "I think I've turned another one" Dawn laughs
"Another one?"
"There was this guy, RJ, had this thing with a jacket...went a bit wrong...cursed girls so much he went to guys"
Ryan chases round the corner to catch up with Garrison
"Will you please stop it! I'm gonna tell her alright!"
"It's nothing to do with that, I semi-appreciate the situation, it's the fact that you're all over Dawn, yet you're quite clearly undressing the new and improved Thalia!"
"What?" Ryan stops offended
"It's not going right is it? You were sent here to love Dawn, but you're falling for her"
"What is this the psychic part of your power or something,mate?"
Garrison looks at him and shakes his head "No..."
He continues walking "It's the working part of my eyes"
"What's that noise?" Faith whispers, now inside the tent.
"Faith, we're in the woods, there's noises"
"Are you sure?" Garrison asks Travis as the two of them and Ryan, pull up to the road at the edge of the woods.
"Positive, Dolly said...she's not been wrong so far"
"I don't see how that's possible" Ryan says
"You don't see alot of things, You're new to this remember? You don't get how this works. No human powers can be used in these woods, not any"
"Well, what about mine?" asks Garrison
Garrison attempts to move a log out of the way with his mind
"You just look constipated" laughs Ryan
Xander and Faith are still in the tent, only now, they seem to have come to some form of mutual agreement. It involves no talking, but some physical actions.
"Okay, that time..." Faith says moving Xander off and struggling to do so
"...I heard something and also, I think I'm sick"
"You have to be sick to sleep with me?" Xander jokes, Faith doesn't laugh.
"Serious" she says "I can't hurt you, I can't lift you off...are you even Xander?"
"Last time I checked, although you may wanna see if there's another...more...different me wondering around with a coin"
Faith stares at him like he's an idiot, before zipping the door down and starting to step out
"Have you seen my pants?" Faith stops in her tracks as she sees Travis, Ryan and Garrison stood infront of her.
"Well, well, well...one girl, three men...you have been busy haven't you Faith?" Ethan laughs as he steps out of the woods.
"Showtime" he smiles as fog lights come on all around them, demons stood around the edges of the trees begin to step forward.
Anna steps forward holding Andrew by the hair with a large dagger to his throat as Melissa and Linda repeat this with the campers.

"You know, this never gets tired" Faith smiles
"Faith, there's something you should know..." Travis starts
"If this about your crush on me, it's not a great time"
"What? a crush?" Travis asks
"Stop..." calls Ethan "let them do this emotional scene first, it'll make it more fun"
Faith and Travis both look at him in disgust before continuing
"Trav, you're a great guy...really you are, but..."
"Faith, what the hell are you talking about? I don't have a crush on you..."
Faith seems a little insulted
"Oh, right..well..."
"I'm in love with you" he smiles
"What??!" Xander, Ryan and Garrison call out
"But hey, You gotta have Faith..."
"What?" Faith questions at the pun
"Sorry, no pun, I mean...you gotta have Faith that things will...go how they're supposed to"
with that, the attack begins, Faith, still thrown by the news is easily floored by Ethan
"What the f-...that really hurt" Faith says to herself questionably
"You got some slayer cryptonite or something?" Faith jokes
"or something" Ethan smiles, Travis, Xander, Garrison and Ryan are now all in the thick of things.
"Faith!..." Travis calls "It's the woods...they take your power"
"Nice man you've got there...shame the relationship won't get a chance to start up"
Faith looks at Ethan then at Travis as a Vampire attacks him.
"Travis!!!" she calls
He manages to dodge it but the four men are being out numbered
"Andrew!..." Garrison calls as he hurls a tent peg through the air catching Annas face, she release Andrew "Get the kids to the car"
Xander looks around and spots a large snake writhing around a tree, he hurls a boot at it causing it to rage.
Sliding down to Xanders direction it panics Melissa and Linda who release the children running straight to Andrew.
Ethan and Faith are at eachothers faces but the fight is going to no place good, without her powers Faith stands short and slim to Ethan.
He lifts her from the ground by his feet, despite being out numbered Travis floods with adrenaline as he charges to rescue Faith calling out to her.
"It's in the mind, Faith! You have to use your mind" Travis charges on stopping dead in his tracks as Xander pulls Ethan away to the ground.
Things fall silent as Faith listens to the faintest sounds ignoring her physical surrounding.
Travis stands, sad and angered that Xander, once again, got to Faith before he did.
Two Vampires grab hold of him as he struggles to break away, they urge him towards a river with a hefty current.
Still out on the ground Ethan is caught up by the snake, wrapping him tightly Faith moves to rescue him.
"Faith, what are you doing?" Xander asks
"Can't let him die Xander...still a human...can't kick a dead persons ass!" as Faith struggles to pull the snake off, is reacts by snapping its Jaw around Ethans neck.
He screams a booming sound as its venom flows through his blood, sharply taking him to a permanent still.
Faith stands back, shocked yet not dissapointed until she hears the faintest click.
Her immediate reaction is to save other people, at which she crashes into Xander knocking him to the ground as Anna stands on hysterically holding a gun in her hand before running off.
"You okay?" Faith says as she straddles over Xander
"Travis" Xander says looking on in shock
Faith turns to see Travis holding his chest, covered in blood.
He looks up at Faith and pushes a smile with his last energy he falls back onto the Vampires and sinks into the murky river.
"Travis!!" Faith calls desperately

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Faith runs to the river diving head in to retrieve Travis.
She can't keep underwater for more than a matter of seconds before coming up for breath.
Xander follows in and pulls her up to the side, out of breath Faith stares up at him as she kicks him off and dives back in.
Seconds later Faith is surfaced holding a body delighted, she smiles at Ryan and Garrison before turning the body over to see it is one of the Vampires.
Faiths smile remains for a moment before sinking she batters the Vampire before standing and attempting to run back to the river.
Xander grabs her and pulls her back, she begins to struggle away from him before breaking down in tears.
Several days have passed, the days are turning into weeks, after two weeks, four days and eleven hours, Faith is finally ready to leave the house.
She heads down to the river and places a bunch of flowers at it's side.
"Faith?" She turns smiling, seeing Travis standing there.
"Faith, it's me...Dawn"
Faith shakes her head and sees Dawn standing at her side, the two of them are in a police station awaiting news.
One of the officers, P.C Brennan, steps out with a stone look and a large file...
"Faith M.." Faith cuts him off "What is it?"
"It's regarding your friend Travis Stone"
"Is it bad?" Dawn asks as Faith is unable to speak
"A Body has been found in the river, we're going to need to ask one of you to identify it"
