Kaos,

I was wondering about the draw stat for shows. It's suppose to be anywhere from 0 to 100 ... The problem is, I'm not sure what a rating of 100 would translate to in America. I'll give you an example. The final ratings for the television season came out a few days ago and the top show was CSI. On average they got a rating of 26.2. Which means 26.2 Million people watch CSI on average, of course things like the Super Bowl, season ending episodes of shows get higher ratings ... Some have 50 million watch, but it's only on one show out of the year. What draw value would I give CSI if it's average is 26.2? Would that be 100? Or would I put that at something like 90? I just need a good idea so I can make the stats for the USA version as good as I can. Thanks.

Jason

This may be hard to explain.

A lot of people don't really get the whole ratings thing with something.something etc.
This is why I decided to simplify it to a rating out of 100.

Basically, the best show in the database (ie the one that gets the highest ratings all the time) would probably be at 99. (I try to avoid putting any show at 100).

If you look at the example copy, then you should see what sort of thing I need. The Simpsons for example are watched quite well so they have a 90ish draw value. There isn't a formula or anything to translate it just put it as how good you think it is!

If the AVERAGE is 26.2 then any program that rates above it would be like 85+ anything on it about 80 and anything below it less than 75 i suppose.

Please refrain from putting one time events like Superbowls, Christmas specials etc in. In TVT 2 there will be code to support one-day only shows but I want TVT to come out asap so i'm not going to add it yet.

I know its difficult to make stats without playing the game also so i will get the next beta ready soon so i can send it to you.

I just want you to bear in mind that CBS and NBC's repuatations are about 90 so any show that plays on their networks should have an expectations stat of less than that. The same goes for FOX on a smaller scale and so forth.

It's a lot to ask but as I said please stop for now as I need to get the new DC to you first.

I don't think that answered your question but I hope it did!

Long ramble over

KAOS
