Mind Games 2

"Starr! Starr! Where are you?', Blair called.

"Right here mommy", Starr answered, walking into her mother's bedroom.

"Starr, I asked you to stay in my sight. I don't want you wandering off. You hear me?", Blair said getting down on her knees to Starr's eye level.

"But mommy, I was just in my room", Starr said rolling her eyes, exasperatedly.

"I don't care. I want you in here with me. With so many people running in and out, of here today, I want you where I can see you", Blair said. She knew Starr liked her independence but with the near miss of the car her and Todd weren't taking any chances. Where was Todd anyway? This was their wedding day. He should be here!

As he walked along the docks Todd replayed the events in his mind. That car came out of nowhere Blair had said. He didn't get a great look at it but it did seem to just appear from thin air. What bothered him the most was how close it came only to miss Blair. If somebody was out to get her, or him, for that matter it didn't make sense that they wouldn't finish the job. That was why he had taken extra precautions and had guards posted at all doors at the Country Club. No one would get in or out without him knowing it.

As he kept walking he realized that he had ended up at the exact spot where he had dove into the water to retrieve Tea's necklace. He shook his head trying to extinguish the thoughts from his brain. To much pain he thought. After almost a year it was clear, she wasn't coming back. All her talk of loving him no matter what, had been a lie. He knew it was mistake. Nothing good ever happens to Todd Manning. However, for a moment, just a moment...ahhhh, no use crying over it now. Besides he had shed more then his fair share those first days after she left. He had holed himself up in their apartment hoping he was wrong. Knowing she would come back. But she didn't....

Get yourself together, Todd, he admonished himself! You have a wedding to be at, your wedding. Okay, so it's not the cast you wanted but it'll have to do. You need Starr, and if the way she had begun to act was any indication, she needs you. Tea had been right about one thing, he thought. Being away from Starr had done more harm to her then good and Todd intended to do everything he could to make it up to her.

Blair, sauntered in to the lobby of the Country Club. She looked around and was pleased by what she saw, lots of lace and beautiful decorations. She twirled her big, beautiful engadgement ring on her finger as she went from table to table checking to make sure everything was just right. Her mind drifted thinking, thins is exactly as it should be. Lots of beautiful things, a spectacular dress, her daughter and of course Todd. At first she wasn't quite sure Todd was really over the Ice Princess but he had spoken her name in months. Shows how forgetable you really are, Tea, she thought with a smirk on her face. Todd's mine again and your no where around to stop it. Not that you could even if you wanted to. After all, I give Todd what he really needs...excitment. You never could, excite, Todd the way I can could you?, Blair giggled.

Blair turned and saw the table in the corner, presents she thought excitdely, all for me, and Todd of course. She went over and began to examine gifts, picking each of them up. Hmm, this is weird she thought, lifting one of the gifts of the table, no card. Blair began to open it...
"Blair! What are you doing?", Todd asked enetering the room.

"Todd! Your not supposed to see me before the wedding! It's bad luck", Blair admonished.

"Like I have any other kind", Todd said with a screwed up face.

"Todd..", Blair started.

"Aren't you supposed to be getting ready? I'm not gonna stand down there like an idiot while finish getting ready. I want to get this over with", Todd said.

" can't you at least pretend to enjoy today, Todd. I mean I know that will take alot of acting on your part, but for my sake and Starr's couldn't you try?", Blair said.

" Yeah, sure Blair", Todd said sounding softer. " What do you got there anyway?", he asked gesturing towards the gift still in Blair's hands.

" Oh this", Blair said waving it around, " I'm not sure. It was with the other gifts but there wasn't a card", Blair said.

"Let me see it", Todd said putting his hand out to take it from Blair.

"No! Todd you just said we didn't have time..", Blair began.

"No, I said you didn't have time. Now let me have it", Todd said snatching it away from her. He began to rip the paper where Blair had already started when he heard a ticking sound. Oh, my God, he thought. No...He gently layed the gift down on the table and carefully beagn to unwrape it, much gentler then he had been. Throwing the paper to the side, he lifted the top off the box. He heard Blair gasp, beside him. "Oh my God", She said out loud. Inside layed between tissue paper was a home made bomb.

" Blair, I want you to go get Starr and get out of here now", He said through clenched teeth.

"But Todd..", Blair said.

" No but's Blair ", he said firmer this time. "Get Starr and go".

Blair hurried off to get Starr from Kelly, turning around one last time to look at Todd. "Todd? Aren't you coming?", she wailed.

"Not yet Blair. I may be able to difuse it. I've seen this type before", he said, not adding I've built this kind before. He heard Blair hurry out. He began to examine the bomb more throughly. That's when he noticed it. One of the main wires wasn't connected, a dud, he thought. Somebody's trying to scare me or Blair. He lifted the bomb out of the box and layed it on the table. On the tissue paper, hidden where the bomb had just layed he found a note.

"A little something, to remeber me by", he read aloud. What the hell was going on? First Blair almost get hit by a car then a fake bomb ends up at the Country Club? That was exactly what he had done...RJ he thought! RJ, was playing more games with him! Well fine, if RJ wanted to play games, he could certainly play right back, he thought stalking out of the Club!

A shadowy figure watches Todd leave the building, a smile creeping across his face. He takes out his cell phone and dials familiar numbers.
After one ring, there's an answer, " Phase two is complete", he says and hangs up.
