1. The couplet at the end of Sonnet 130 is extremely important. From the beginning of the poem, Shakespeare seems to be writing about a woman who is undesirable, and hence, someone he could not love. The couplet, however, explains that her looks don't affect him, and he loves her anyways, despite her appearance.

2. Most sonnets are about love and how beautiful the poet's lover is. In Sonnet 130, however, Shakespeare mocks these stereotypes by telling of how ugly his love is, instead of how beautiful she is.
