The couplet at the end of the sonnet alters the meaning of the sonnet by explaining how the author loves this woman so much she must be one of a kind sent from heaven, where as throughout the sonnet he explained her looks and why he loved her. Shakespeare mocks the aspects of the traditional sonnet by giving it a different type of meter.
