If the Radiator isnt blocked, then use Engine Ice cooant.. Its Purple, and seems to cool to a lower temp quite well..
Had it in my 94 for a while.. didnt really need it up here in VA but the temp guage was certainly two lines lower than with regular.. Typically I get to the first thick mark and occasionally the line above.. With the Engine ice, I think it say the thick line once two years ago.. The '86 so far hasnt shown any need to use anything other than normal coolant.
