Subject: ETHANOL FUEL PROBLEMS

Well had the carbs apart again because one of the bowls was pouring out as a result of last years work. So the gas stayed in there all winter largely untreated. The fuel in the carbs was already breaking down turning a light brown color forming particles to clog my main jets. So I cleaned up the carbs passages and drained the whole tank and installed a new fuel filter with some fresh gas. The fuel filter was basically clean and most of the gas coming out of the tank was clear.
I am trying a new fuel treatment for ethanol fuel MADE BY
STARBRIGHT called " STAR*TRON. Its turquoise in color and they say it really deals with the fuel breakdown. The alcohol in the fuel breaks down then adsorbing water which becomes rust dust. I hope this works out because
the SEAFOAM AND the STABIL really are not working for me.
I'm thinking that shutting down the fuel pump or pinching the fuel line to run the carbs dry when not in use is becoming a pretty necessary option. Either that or buy a fuel injected bike. Does anyone have the info on alternate
fuel pump operation?
