Somehow Zeth knew that she disliked the crusts on her sandwhiches and it startled Lavinia for a moment, but quickly shrugged it off as being his intuition. Falling silent, the dark haired child ate as if she hadn't eaten in days, scarfing the food in her mouth following by deep gulps of moo juice. At the same time, Lavinia remained aware of her father seated to her side and blushed slightly when she realized how ill mannered and rude she must seem. Uttering an apology under her breath, the child instantly corrected herself.
"What if mamma came back? What if mamma came saying she loved you and wouldn't run away anymore? Don't you want us?"
Amazingly, not a tear lingured in her pale emeralds nor did her lower lip quiver as if she were on the verge of crying. In fact, the fae child's composure imitated polished stone. After countless nights of waking to her mother's sobbing, Lavinia vowed to whatever entity was worshipped that she would never express anger or sorrow. Not one tear would be shed. Nor would there be a frown or furrowed brow. Perhaps this would make her seem cold, but it worked for Lavinia.
