Ravin was relieved to have his friends join his battle against the magical golems. Within no time their combined efforts destroyed the creatures. None of them had suffered any serious injuries yet they all were sore and badly bruised. Ravin's mind drifted to the hot springs beneath the first temple they entered. Now that all the spider men had been eliminated from the place he really looked forward to returning there later for a relaxing soak. The hot water would help relieve his tired, aching muscles, preparing him for yet another day of exploring the ruins.

He glanced at Isobel, smiling when he heard her cursing at Valhorek, who was in the process of pulling her dislocated shoulder back into the place. Such ugly words did nothing to deter from the woman's beauty. In fact, they only added to her overall charm. He rubbed at a bruise on his arm then moved to aid Erlic in opening the chests lying in one corner of the room.

Once the chests were pulled open, Isobel, Val, and the Jann joined them. "We are all fabulously wealthy," Isobel said, stepping up beside the thief. Ravin smiled then nodded before placing a kiss on her cheek. Of course he would have liked to do a lot more than just kiss her, but there wasn't any sense in thinking about that right now.

After procuring some of the treasure, they followed Erlic up the stairs and into a rather elegant bedroom. When nothing was found in the room they made their way through another door after Ravin disarmed a magical trap with his special stone. They entered a laboratory of sorts filled with more life like puppets. An eerie feeling crept up Ravin's spine, making him tighten his grip on his sword and the throwing knife he held.

When Isobel pointed to one of the larger puppets with her blade, Ravin stared at the thing, flinching slightly after seeing a grin come to its face. Without hesitation, he tossed his knife at the puppet only to have it bounce off some invisible shield. "Magic!" He dove out of the way as shards of sharp ice flew at him from the puppet's extended hand. As he got to his feet he saw a number of the other puppets rise up to attack.

"The other team has found the throne!" Sheikh Daraba called out as he and the other Jann rushed into the fray, cutting the strings from the animated figures of wood.

Well, that's real nice, Ravin thought, a bit sarcastically as he swerved to avoid a handful of needles one of the puppets tossed at him. When a small blade bit into the back of his thigh he spun around, and tried to slice through the strings of a tall puppet that held a small dirk in its hands. His sword missed its mark because the damn thing moved away from him too quickly. Limping slightly, he pursued the knife-wielding puppet and wondered why Isobel seemed to be frozen in place. "Magic," he hissed again. Gods, how he hated magic! Hopefully, Erlic could use that chi power he was always talking about to free Isobel or bring down the invisible shield that protected the grinning puppet.
