Jade took the glowstick from Erlic with a grin. "Light of your life, eh?" she winked. Then they turned their attention to descending the stairway. Tristan and Marz had gone back down before them, so Jade pulled her dagger and slowly crept down the stairway, Erlic right along with her. Jade gagged at the horrible smell emanating from whatever was down there. "Gods, that stinks!" she muttered.

When the disembodied voices started, Jade tensed, but didn't look frightened. Her eyes sparkled. "Ghosties be here," she commented softly. The white face appeared and she ducked under it, not wanting to touch a ghost. After all, that might allow it to possess her body or something. "Duck under," she advised Erlic. "Don't want it to get you."

The sight that lay before them once they'd reached the bottom was horrific. Bodies hanging from webbing... pieces of bodies laying around on the floor. All of them bald. "Well... I guess this is what the Sharm meant when they said there were worse fates than converting..." She nearly jumped when one of the bodies twitched, its guts spilling out onto the floor in front of it. "Poor sod," she said, and slit the fellow's throat to put him out of his misery.

She turned to Erlic. "The Sharm would hint that there was some form of even worse torture that they could subject us to if we resisted their brainwashing and conversion. Fortunately I wasn't here long enough to get much of their 'treatment', but I bet these people are the ones who didn't convert." She moved the glowstick around looking at the bodies, her eyes falling on the pile of clothing and possessions. She picked through it after Marz took the gold but found nothing useful.

Rowan ran to the stairs advising everyone to go back up. Jade chuckled. She supposed some people might have delicate stomachs... then again, that tunnel might spew more of the spider things at any moment. And there went Ravin and Isobel followed by Marz and Tristan just traipsing down there... well, she wasn't about to be left behind! She plucked at Erlic's shirt. "Come on," she said, and headed for the tunnel, the glowstick held aloft.

Her eyes widened at the sight of the spiders feeding. "Gods that is gross," she said in awed disgust. She followed Ravin and the others to where they spied the village. "Okay, that's a lotta nasties. Maybe..." She thought about tossing a Fireball in there but didn't want to steal Tristan's moment if the dragon wanted to fry the suckers. Besides, that would give away her secret.

Slowly she crept back out to where Ravin and the others stood. "You know... that glowing purple stuff could be useful..." she commented thoughtfully.

Then she shrugged and, throwing an arm around Erlic's shoulders, she said with a grin, "Well, there's your fun, darling!"
