Subject: And yet another question for Saras
In reply to: Tristan 's message, "Take your Twinkies & stuff 'em your...never mind" on 16:03:58 01/25/02 Fri

While sipping his java, Ravin glanced at the faces of the youth's that sat around the campfire with him and Saras. Something was going on because his empathy picked up an awful lot of hostility coming from their direction. Marz had his eyes closed, obviously content with the way Tristan massaged his temples, but the dragon and Jeremy wore scowls upon their faces. It seems we have a bit of turmoil brewing within our merry little band of adventures, he mused.

He took a bite of the Twinkie that Jeremy gave him then faced Saras. The genie confused him. It sounded like Saras wanted him to make more wishes, yet earlier he had warned him that he could no longer grant wishes properly. "I don't know what will happen to you next time," the genie had said. " I don't know what strangeness or side-effects will happen the next time you make a wish.

It was easy to see that Saras was suffering great emotional pain due to the lost of his magic. Ravin was quite tempted to wish that the genie got his magic back, because he really wanted to see him happy again. But what if something went wrong with that wish, and Saras ended up getting hurt because of it? It was probably wise not to rush into things right now. Finally, he decided that the best thing to do would be to hold off with any more wishes until he understood Saras and the limitations of his power better.

"Can you be killed, Saras?" he asked suddenly. "I mean, if we were attacked, and someone managed to plunge a sword into you heart, would you die like a mortal man? Or would you just turn to dust and return to the flask, and reappear healthy after someone rubs it again?"
