Subject: Tristan and danger
In reply to: Tristan 's message, "Take your Twinkies & stuff 'em your...never mind" on 16:03:58 01/25/02 Fri

Valhorek was busy dealing with the newcomer, and for now, Erlic could possibly turn his thoughts to other matters that needed attention. Tristan’s message had alerted him to the fact that there was a mage present. Ordinarily the presence of a mage didn’t necessitate any fears. This one, however, had managed to see the magical swirl of power that encompassed Marz, and had tried to tap into it. Fortunately for both his student, and the mage, the man, or woman for that matter, had been able to control it, or possibly had lucked out by stopping his/her drawing when it happened.

The guild master decided it was time to confront Tristan, and gather as much information he could regarding this current incident with Marz. “You’ll have to excuse me Laurel,” Erlic informed the druid. “I have to see to some matters while there is still some time. Hopefully, I’ll be able to join you a bit later.” He kissed her on the cheek, and departed.

He spotted Tristan sitting with Marz, who was sitting down next to Laurel’s pet cat, Mikoshi. Erlic directed his question to Marz, this way avoiding any confrontation with the youth. “Marz,” Erlic stated. “Would you mind if I had a few words with Tristan?”

Marz simply shrugged, and Tristan got to his feet, and accompanied the guild master to an area not too far away, but where Marz could still see them, but not hear them.

Erlic eyed the dragon intensely. “Now,” he began. “I’ve told you in the past that something like this might happen, and apparently from what you’ve related, it has. I need to know exactly where Marz was at, how he felt, anything that will give me some insight as to what I should be looking for.”

The guild master realized it was a loaded question, and that it was quite broad in nature, but the more information that Tristan could relay to him, the better prepared he would be for the next encounter, that is if there was another encounter.

“One other thing,” Erlic decided to add. “Because of the link, I can possibly trace the origin of whoever is doing this, but if the pull if very mild, and the mage actually knows how to control this abundance of power, he could be drawing what he needed, using what he needed for a good, good while. Providing of course he knew how to control this power. The likelihood of that actually happening is quite great. However, if the mage decides to draw again, and looses his train of thought, both he and Marz will die.”

Erlic had to drive that last point home to the dragon. Tristan had to understand the validity, and the danger of this drawing, and what it could do to Marz. “One final point. If the mage knows how to control the flow, he can harness as much energy as his body can hold, and use whatever spell, at whatever force imaginable.”

For that reason it was important that Marz learn the rites of the Chakras, and learn how to close the ones that were open, and displaying him as a source of unlimited magical power to anyone with the right magic eye.
