As Ravin was pulling out a handful of exploding pellets from the pocket of the dead assassin he was using to shield himself, Laurel appeared. "Duck," he shouted, when he saw another assassin aim at her with his blowgun. He winced when he saw Laurel dive to the ground, hoping she didn't injure herself on one of the many rocks lying around.

Ravin made ready to toss one of the pellets at the assassins but then the world seemed to turn upside down. The ground began moving and the sky started to darken. Again he glanced at Laurel, thinking she was the cause of it all since she had just finished shouting out some magical words which had made the remaining assassins fall to the ground. Quickly, he rose and started to run toward the stunned men but was thrown back by a blast of fierce wind that came out of nowhere.

After falling to his knees, he staggered back to his feet then saw Laurel topple to the ground. He glanced in the direction of the assassins, who were busy battling the forces of nature that were going crazy around them at the moment. From the corner of his eye he saw one of the Slayers toss a knife toward Laurel. Reacting quickly, he rushed at the druidess, putting his body between her and the blade. Thanks to the tremendous wind the knife flew slightly off course, grazing his shoulder and making him stumble. He fell right on top of Laurel, but managed to cushion the fall by catching himself on his fisted hands, which were holding the pellets.

Hearing rapidly approaching footsteps, he turned slightly; throwing a handful of pellets at the assassin that loomed up six feet away from him. The pellets hit the ground at the man's feet and exploded, catching the legs of his pants on fire. He ran from the area and headed directly for the turbulent water.

When he heard no one else approaching, Ravin turned his attention back to the druidess, a sense of panic hitting him when he didn't feel her breathing. While still lying on top of her, he set the remaining pellets down, pitched her nose with one hand and opened her mouth with the other. Taking a deep breath, he covered her mouth with his and slowly filled her lungs with air.

After repeating the procedure a couple of times, he felt her stir beneath his naked body. When her eyes fluttered open, he brushed her hair back and gave her a smile. "You had me worried there for a minute." When water from his damp hair fell onto her brow, he gently wiped the moisture away as well. "Do you feel well enough to stand?"

Before she could answer the pond water heaved up violently, a massive wave drenching them. Ravin wrapped his arms around her and buried his face into her shoulder. Afterwards they both sputtered and stared at one another. "Did you do this with you magic, Laurel? And if you did, don't you think its time you put a stop to it?" He continued to hold her, frankly feeling quite comfortable with the position they found themselves in. While waiting for her reply, he listened for any sounds of approaching footsteps. There were still three assassins somewhere in the area.
