Subject: ...I have to wear this?
In reply to: Ravin---Marz 's message, "Finding clothes---ripping off clothes" on 11:55:16 01/13/02 Sun

Sarosh followed along behind Ravin, eyes wandering and looking around at the Jann village and the people. His eyes lingered on their clothes, which he decided he rather liked, since it set off the bodies of those wearing them. They weren’t as nice as he expected, but mortals rarely wore the sort of clothes that they deserved. The first of Ravin’s friend that he met made his heart sink however. This Justin was quite unattractive and seemed to have no notion of how to best set off his features. Sarosh was rather disappointed, but not altogether surprised. Foreigners dressed worse then most, but it was like he hadn’t even been trying! Maybe he’s just ignorant about such things… I’ll talk with him later and see if I can help!Sarosh decided as they went past and into the tent.

The second person Ravin introduced him to made him feel much better about the status of Ravin’s friends fashion sense. Not only was the woman beautiful, but impeccably dressed. The somewhat sleepy look on her face, from being waken by them even worked. He had opened his mouth to compliment her on her choice of clothing when Ravin interrupted, offering rather bland coloured clothing. Saras looked down at what was being offered, his face falling in disappointment before looking back up at Ravin, searching for any trace that the man had been joking.

"Sorry, but I don’t own anything red. Black and dark grays make up most of my wardrobe."

Sarosh looked back down at the clothing, accepting them slowly. Well…. At least they’re mostly clean. he thought, trying to cheer himself up. He couldn’t do it however, the clothes being clean were the best that he could come up with. Even the stitching was plain and dull! The thought of his beauty being stuck in such plain and dull clothing made his heart sink. It would be like, well, it was nearly as bad as having been stripped of his powers!

“Thank you.” he said, remembering his manners, and that he had been the one who had requested something different to wear. It wasn’t that he had wanted to change out of his beautiful clothing, but the robes and shawls were many, and rather difficult to move in for any long period of time. When he had been able to float and fly, It hadn’t been much of a problem, but he didn’t have wings anymore, and doubted that he could conjure them if he wanted, let alone use his powers to keep himself aloft. No. Saras was stuck walking, or traveling as his mortal did.

As Saras began to disrobe, he watched the colourful fabrics pool onto the floor in favour of the thief’s ugly spare clothes. It reminded him of spilling paint, and he couldn’t help but admire the way the light played with the colours and the way they played off each other. With a sigh however, he turned back to the ask at hand, which was getting dressed. He pulled the dark shirt over his smooth golden torso, pulling his hair from under and shaking it loose, careful not to dislodge any of the baubles he’d woven into braids. If he had to wear these plain clothes, at least he could keep his hair looking nice.

It isn’t fair. Why does she get to wear something so nice, and I got stuck with these drab things?! Maybe I should have waited and asked her for something nicer to wear…he grumbled to himself.

By the time he had finished dressing, he had salvaged his sandals, added a sash of bright red and tied beads and several feathers to the ties on the shirt. It wasn’t as nice as he would have liked, but it would do for now, and it had made him feel better about how he looked.

“Now! After you get me some food, we can discuss your wishes,” he said smiling for the first time since seeing the clothes he was going to have to wear. Sitting himself down next to Isobel on one of the cushions and looking up at Ravin. Finally satisfied he glanced over at Isobel and smiled. "You're clothes are very nice!!" he said. "Much better then either Ravin here or the big guy outside!"
