Thanks for setting this up, Tom. I was sorry to miss your event (being so close, here in northern NM), but am off to a related one on the 26th in the Bay Area, co-hosted by the NPS and Nature Sounds Society, with an emphasis on developing protocols for doing sound surveys/recording in the parks. My interest is largely twofold: as a writer and soundscape educator, to help develop interpretive materials and techniques, and as a soundscape advocate, to learn more about the "language" used by the NPS in hopes of encouraging other agencies to follow their lead.
