So much needless death within this empty world that we create,
Behind the solitude of unfilled shadows lives our apprehension.
So more we could achieve with greater fate,
But still we hide the things we fear to mention.
Passing as former shadows of what we were,
Or as the figures of what we wish to be.
And still we lose the sight of our own goals,
And so we lose our own ability.
Looking to the heavens still we pray,
For some greater passion to hear our cries.
And still we pass the odds to aid the frail,
Because we’re blind and wont see with our eyes.
Within the wind are whispers of our past,
in the rain our tears fall alongside,
The hope that rained the heavens of our belief,
Beside the innocence of hearts that all but died.
