Faith was great in this. And I love the fact that despite how dark and desperate the times are, despite the fact that Buffy and Angel are both dead, Faith and the Scoobies and a whole lot of very determined people are still fighting back. The fortitude and endurance make me think of an old story from the Talmud:

One day, God came to three people on a faraway island and said, "In three days time, I will send a tidal wave here, and this island will be covered by the ocean forever after. Go and tell your people."

The first man, who was a cynic, went to his people and said, "We have three days before the island and all on it die, so let us feast and drink for those three days--we shall never be able to do so again."

The second man, who was a mystic, went to his people and said, "We have three days before the island and all on it die, so let us fast and pray for those three days--perhaps God will change his mind."

But the third man, who was a teacher, went to his people and said, "Well, we have three days to learn how to live underwater."

And I really think that's what is going on in this story. Faith and the Scoobies and the ordinary, frightened, stubborn people on their side are doing their best to fight for life. Even if it means living under circumstances they never expected. Even if it means living underwater.
