Yeah, I think that a lot of people facing a horrible fate and helpless to do anything about it would be sorely tempted to cling to any faint hope (false or not) that might make their survival sound possible.

Good question. I think that her initial turn to religion could dwindle away if it becomes apparent to her that most of the preachers/priests/rabbis/whoever are no more aware of the existence of vampires than John Q. Public.

I don't think so. If it's not really you, it's really a demon, well--the demon is gonna be happy to be free to terrorize, torment and feed on people. If it _is_ you, but you've been corrupted by the vampire taint, you'll be equally happy to do those things and think your previous behavior was the result of superstition, stupidity, gullibility, etc.
